What to do in Valle d'Itria · Trulli d'Amore
Puglia, curated
Experiences and itineraries curated by those who live this land every day. Not a list — a perspective.
What to do in Valle d'Itria, chosen by those who live here. Polignano a Mare at 8 AM without the crowds, Locorotondo at sunset, Cisternino under the embers of the grills, Alberobello before 9. The Puglia you don't read about in travel guides, told by Antonella of Trulli d'Amore.
The perspective of those who live here
What to do in Valle d'Itria: authentic experiences and itineraries
There are two ways to visit Valle d'Itria. The first: the standard circuit — Alberobello, Ostuni, Polignano, Matera, all in three days. You come home with many photos and the feeling you saw nothing.
The second: choose well. One village at 7am is worth more than three at noon. The oil mill in October is worth more than any museum. The butcher-kitchen of Cisternino is worth more than a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Things to do in Valle d'Itria: curated experiences and itineraries
CHOICE is the proposal of those who have always lived this land. It is not a concierge service in the traditional sense. There is no catalogue to browse.
There is Antonella, who has always lived in Monopoli and knows the Valley's olive oil producers one by one. There is Anna, who knows which winery is worth visiting in October and which in May, and why. There are years of conversations with those who work, cook and inhabit this land.
“CHOICE is trust. Knowing that every suggestion has a reason, that every experience is in its right place — not because it is the most famous, but because it is the right one for that moment.”
The villages — how and when to visit
Every village has
its right hour
From Trulli d'Amore none of these villages is more than 25 minutes away. The logistics are simple. What makes the difference is knowing when to go.
White empty streets, grazing light on the round houses. Before the morning tourists, the village still belongs to its inhabitants. A coffee in the square bar lasts half an hour.
20 minutes from Trulli d'AmoreThe Thursday market is the local one. Not the tourist one. Olive oil producers, farmhouse cheeses, seasonal fruit, clothing stalls that have existed for three generations.
35 minutes from Trulli d'AmoreThe butcher-kitchens — a Cisternino peculiarity. You enter, choose the meat, they cook it in front of you. Not a restaurant. Not a barbecue. An institution.
30 minutes from Trulli d'AmoreThe tourist coaches arrive from 9:30 onwards. Before that, the Monti district is empty, silent, photographable. After, it becomes a theme park. The early morning and midday experience are two completely different places.

15 minutes away.
When you want.
Monopoli is 15 minutes by car. The sandy beaches in the centre alternate with more private rocky coves on the outskirts. Polignano a Mare — with its cliffs and sea caves — is 20 minutes away.
In September and October the sea is still warm (22–24°C), the beaches are nearly empty, and the price of fish at Monopoli market is honest. It is the period we most like to recommend.
Who is behind CHOICE
CHOICE is trust.
In those who truly
know this land.
When you arrive in Valle d'Itria with limited time, the difference between a forgettable stay and one you remember for years is often just one thing: knowing what to choose, and when.
Trulli d'Amore does not sell standard experiences. It offers what it knows — because it has been there, because it does it every year, because the people behind it do it out of passion, not profession.
